Question:
Are there any freshwater lakes near Los Angeles?
2009-04-22 09:09:56 UTC
If so, how far from the city are they? Are there houses for sale on the lakes? (I'm sure they wouldn't be cheap.) Do they freeze in the winter months? And are there any places with rental boats available?
Thanks for any answers.

There is Silver Lake, which is in Los Angeles and very cool and nice. There are homes around the entire lake and since it's a water reservoir it also has a fence around it and, no, you can't boat on it.

None of the lakes freeze here.

Added: Some of the lakes listed I wouldn't consider lakes, but large ponds. The web site has links to all of the lakes.
