my husband and i would feel a little more at "home" if we lived around more people who spoke english and had more in common with us. nothing racist, just trying to find the right community. right now we live in mar vista. and i don't mean areas that you have to be super rich to live in either, cuz we are middle class.

Dear lizbobble,

I live in Calabasas, CA, Which is in the southwest, West San Fernando Valley, nestled in the santa monica mountains. And it is a Beautiful place with alot of new developments. It isn't really classified as "the Valley," and that is a good thing. It is part of LA County, but not LA city. It is 28 miles away from downtown, and only 13 miles from malibu, close to the 101 freeway. Majority of people here are white. And the School system is one of the best in California (Las Virgenes Unified School District). So if you are really interested, Have your Real Estate Agent show you properties in Calabasas, Augora hills, and Westlake Village.

I'm pretty familiar with the area. Live in Palos Verdes or Westwood - pretty few Hispanics and pretty affluent. If you're open to like 30 minutes out of LA, a great neighborhood with probably the best school district in Southern California is San Marino. If you're ok with being an hour out, I'd say Irvine or Newport. Again, you'll find a lot of Hispanics in Southern California in general. There are some areas with lots of Asian Americans Irvine, Arcadia, San Gabriel, South Pasadena , Cerritos, Alhambra. - All of these have outstanding school districts - some of the best in the state and the nation.

try visiting www.imaracist.com I'm sure they can offer some friendly advice.

Did you know that California has more Mexicans than some areas in Mexico? Try moving to Alaska. Although I hear they have Native Americans there, u might not feel too much at home either.

That was a messed up thing to say. You can't say that wasn't a racist comment. Historically, over a hundred or so years ago, California was apart of Mexico. How you can ask where you can live with little or no Mexicans, when it was their land to begin with is f&*^% stupid...

lol honey, get over it, there are always going to be mexicans anywhere you go lol they are the reason we have crops lol because us americans are too lazy to go pick them, I am married to a mexican man, and he speaks english, alot of them that have been here for years do, just not to you, because you overlook them as being a different race...lol all my inlaws are mexican, and they are a blessing to be around. and your questions states......where are nice places to live?....you know, it used to be mexicans who saved up all their hard earned cash just to send it to their families in mexico...but now adays, they get paid pretty good lol livinging Georgia, my husband makes 10hr doing landscaping (that's awesome for the south) and we live in a nice place lol it's just ugh, okay, im going to stop before I just blert out what I really want to say to your question :d

I think that this question was in poor taste. There

are many hispanics in the area...perhaps you might consider

living in Maine or perhaps Omaha...
